Of course all new multi-million dollar everything. They need to slow their roll and evolve/mature like the Cyber Commands are doing - co-habitating in the spaces with their peers who are performing those functions now and re-purposing the bases/communities that are scheduled for closing. They'll get there, but top of the line equipment for non-top of the line performance is not a good ROI

Have you been to WPAFB? I work here and many of our buildings are filled with asbestos floor and ceiling tiles. To get them up to code would cost more than building new facilities. I think we need to use what we can, but also build new where needed. There is ample room where the old base housing used to be in Area A.

SMSgt Keith Klug - Never been to Wright-Patt, but I have been a part of several organizations when they were standing up...invariably, the 1st 3-5 years are in facilities that are worse than some deployed areas (NOTE: this comparison is Army deployments, so I know an Air Force equivalent has a greater delta) The Command should take its time, secure the funding and do it right the first time. Changes to a weak plan will cost more in the long run and slow your growth. I feel your pain -- Good Luck

Completely agree with doing it right. But you know they will go with lowest bidder, who then will have to be redone because of design issues or some other crap.

SMSgt Keith Klug - True, sadly the government's bureaucracy favors the "want it bad, get it bad" environment. Lowest bidder is the default setting/ easy button, but I hope the Space Force Acquisition folks put in the WORK and create a foundation that is both successful and fiscally responsible -- Good Luck

I think it would drive me crazy to work in the Space Force because most of the requisite technology has not been invented. If you apply the Ends, Ways, Means test they will discuss Objectives, Tactics, but they don't have the means.
