I reclassed as a prior service and it was like going to college. No Drill SGTs and lots of females and parties.

Goodness, I went back through AIT as a SSG in 81.... The students treated me like one of the cadre and the cadre treated me like a SSG... The instructors pretty much left me on my own, It was a self paced course that was supposed to take 16 weeks I did it in 9 weeks and they wanted me to stay as an instructor..... I turned it down....

SSG Ryan R. - That's why when I left the Army I took two degrees. If you want to make the Army your career, look at how many infantry officers have been 4 stars and Chief of Staff or Chair of the Joint Chiefs. My former CG became the Army Chief of Staff.

We get lots of former Infantry guys in Aviation. Once even saw a CW4 with "the tower of power" (eg, Special Forces, Ranger, Airborne tabs) and just about every badge an Infantry guy can get. He was climbing out of a helicopter when I saw all his bling... But for most people, the Infantry chews people up and they have no other choices but reclass or getting out.
