I agree, the Army doesn’t need his kind in the ranks. We all bleed red.

At what point did he make racist comments? At what point is his conduct so bad but this is acceptable? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOE1a29Bnks His family had to be escorted to another location. I do not know about ya'll but two wrongs do not make a right. The more we grow protected classes in this country the worse, not better this is going to get. I am by no means condoning SFC Pentland's actions and this would not be my course of action but we must be fair. Where are the thousands of white on white interactions like this? Black on black? Everyone here is so quick to give him the boot because that is the politically correct response but it is not the response that is going to solve our bigger, growing issues.

SSG Brian L. while I understand that the other man was doing something he wasn't supposed too, the SFC needs punished. At the very least removed from his instructor role and demoted 1 rank. If it was self-defense I could understand giving him a counseling or something minor, but the male during the interview never showed aggression.

SSG(P) (Join to see) - This is strictly about the race of the accuser and said victim, nothing more, nothing less. SHARPE crimes ten times worse do not get this media attention and I guarantee a white soldier has shoved another white soldier since this came out and people are not on here calling for their careers. For someone to get shoved you have to be within arm reach and since the Spanish Flu of 1918 that is an uncomfortable distance for Americans.

MAJ Byron Oyler You pretty much answered your own question, Sir. Yes, the accuser was of one race, and the victim was of another and that is it. But society is so quick to call it a hate crime or accusations alike because it is the easiest thing to do rather than just to research the facts. As you can see, the ArmyTimes only reported the assault and the headline is almost blatantly calling it racist, there are other sides of the story. What I will say is that the media will only say so much and the video can only prove so much. Was it a small case of racial profiling? Maybe. But, as A1C Doug Towsley said, the victim was also causing issues in the neighborhood and that SFC Pentland was summoned by neighbors. Does that justify his actions? 100% not! He wasn't being attacked nor did the victim show signs of harmful intentions so therefore, SFC Pentland had no reason to do what he did.
