The misguided and mythical political narrative of the sexual assault epidemic in the military, vociferously promoted by the rape culture hysteric cottage industry is in a state of delusion. While sexual assaults do happen in the military, they mirror, or are at levels below what we see in the general populace.
The current pattern and practice when an allegation of sexual misconduct is made, it is guilty until officially proven guilty, and by design, changes in the UCMJ, Rules of Courts-Martial, and Military Rules of Evidence (MRE), has made presenting a viable defense extremely difficult, if not virtually impossible. As a matter of routine, collateral charges are heaped on top of existing sexual misconduct charges to insure that a conviction can be rendered for ‘something.’

And a rape survivor prior to my military service. Many may wonder why someone who has lived through this is even concerned. Both sexual assault and false allegations ruin lives and although I am retired I won't stand by and watch these injustices. It doesn't help the real survivors either. Thank you COL, It is my pleasure! It has only gotten worse since the Hollywoodization of the "Invisible War" and the politicians got involved. There has been nearly a 600% increase in convictions since 2011. There is the 'Believe' all victims mantra, when in reality we need to "support" both the accused and the accuser, because upon allegation we haven't really established who the 'real victim' is. A mere he/she said allegation (with no proof) can very well get you 10 years these days.

MSgt Lisa Silva - I was a MP, and dealt with this from 1980 thru 2013... I was on the Army Team that created SHARP... I thought we moved past this, learned, and evolved... I guess I was just hopeful...
