How can a woman not know she is pregnant with a 7 pound baby? I know if a woman is obese, it can be possible, but if this Petty Officer is obese, she shouldn't be in the Navy. This is a phenomenon.
A sailor, who didn’t know she was pregnant, delivered a healthy baby aboard the USS Eisenhower, deployed to combat ISIS on 9/11.
On Sunday, Sept. 11, the USS Eisenhower, which is tasked with fighting ISIS, became host to an unlikely stowaway — a newborn baby.

She should have received an SRP prior to leaving... As part of that she would have received a pregnancy test, unless she can prove she had a hysterectomy or had a medical complication that has made her sterile, all Females in active duty had one as part of SRP operations while I was on active duty as a medic and we still do them at MED DET while I am in the guard.
My question is will the baby get deployment patch, ribbons??

this is not uncommon...it happens a lot...there are plenty of cases of normal sized/in shape women being pregnant and not knowing...I was on active duty, a size 2 with a 6 pack and had no idea I was 7 months pregnant with my first born...so yeah, it's possible...

SGT (Join to see) - oh you're welcome...women who are in highly stressful situations or who participate in regular strenuous/rigorous exercise can "lose" their "monthly visitor" and therefore will no longer have that as an indicator that she may be pregnant. :)

Commented on this earlier. My wife with our first child gained 14 lbs, my son was 7.3 lbs, she weighed less after the birth than before. If I showed you the picture, you couldn't tell she was pregnant. But, it's hard to believe no one including the sick bay weren't aware. Summary: It was her choice not to take the available maternity leave. I would like to have a whole crew with that dedication, even if it was poor judgement.
