As I said in another thread, he will be punished. His career is over and will, in all probability retire within the next six months. What level of punishment do you all think he deserves?

I think the punishment you mentioned would be quite sufficient. As a Flag Officer he should set the example, but then he is only human.

MCPO Collins, PO1 Carlson... Sirs, OUCH .. I'm Honestly impressed with the examples set by Army Col Mikel Burroughs, As he leads by example and shows respect to all.. As a Flag Officer, yes this Admiral's career is over.. Publically intoxicated and indecent exposure, "actions unbecoming of an officer" .. However, in his defense !! Has Congress taken a good look at themselves ??? It is so easy for them to Point Fingers, and just do whatever they want, cause they are Special !!

No one is excusing him. Just how much is too much is the question. How any remember the little blue dress? As I recall the C-in-C was not even held to this standard. And don't get me started on JFK.

How many of you have gotten drunk in public? I have once in Japan.
As for the public indecency, real easy to make a wrong turn when your drunk and in a strange motel.
Shit happens, nobody was hurt, dock his pay, send him to NADSAP, and carry on.

Fired (Forced) retirement at a 1 star level. That should suffice. Too Bad.

Agreed. He should definitely lose a Star.

PO1 John Miller - He's not losing a Star. Just the way Flags retire. All Flag Officers retire as 1 star. Congress gets to decide if they keep their actual rank at retirement. What you think is going to Happen?

I've actually heard of Admirals losing a Star (or 2) at retirement, if they've gotten in trouble. Something about "the last rank served honorably at."

Pretty Much. Congress votes on officer promotions and they have good memories. Flag Officers only get the 1 star retirement unless Congress decides otherwise.
