The American forces were alongside Somali troops at a small outpost near the town of Jamaame when they came under small arms and mortar fire, Defense Department officials said on Friday.

Chip thanks for the share, it is a 3rd SF guy that was KIA. I hate it any time an American is killed but it breaks my heart every time an SF guy is KIA. My first experience was none combat related, it was water borne operations training one guy was killed the several others injured one paralyzed, he died later. That was many years ago, one thing I learned pretty quick it does not make it any easier when it happens but it is dangerous work. Even when the US is not at war there are always people out there who hate us and want to do us harm. SF guys will almost always find themselves in small numbers in bad places.
