We have college educated individuals who can understand why the infantry is the Queen of Battle, but looks down on the Redlegs who are the Kings of battle. With all this superior brainpower, how come NO ONE regardless of rank or MOS can get this or counter colloms right the first time?

From my personal experience, I think the counter column is a lost art. I have been with three units and only have heard this command in WLC and at most, 3 or 4 times on a regular day. Perhaps we need to practice it more.

SSG Michael Hathaway - I agree with you. I went through PLDC and that was an instant fail if you couldn't execute that one. Some will say it's not important but to them I'd tell them to go read the blue book. D&C is an important thing to do and it instills discipline in the ranks. As the deployments wind down, we'll start to see that even SNCO's cannot do basic drill commands (unless they were Drills themselves), and Big Army will have riot of laughter as they come back and tel folks on SGT's Time you will practice D&C.
