"Two decades ago the psychologists Robert and Joyce Hogan created an inventory of these “dark side” traits—11 qualities that when taken to the extreme, resemble the most common personality disorders."
Any personality trait can be detrimental to your career when taken to the extreme.

It seems to Me never forgetting where You came from while You move forward and learn to delegate Supervisory and Management tasks to others. Provide Your helpers with the actual authority to make their own decisions while still maintaining Your oversight and communication with those people and supporting them. The team concept is so important and if people feel they are part of the process and important to its success they tend to not only do the job at hand but go the extra miles because they want to. In the long run You make Your job easier and become part of the team Yourself by NOT micro managing, that never works well. You must be consistent and only have one set of rules and take the guesswork out what can and can't be done and be equal in Your treatment of the members of Your team. Do NOT change for the sake of change or to inflate Your own ego. A change to make a job easier or scrap duplicate tasks or more efficient to better accomplish distinct goals should be the objective if a change is made. If its not broken don't try to fix it. You can manage and control without being the King !
