This is NOT right, and I can't understand HOW someone could live with themselves when you have husbands and wives buried in Arlington.

SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL - that's OUR land. All of us who have skin in the game own some of it. And when my day comes, I want to be there, not anywhere else. I earned that plot.

SSG Warren Swan - If you beat me to needing that plot, Brother, I'll come pour one out for you. If I beat you, and you're so inclined, head to your nearest beach and give King Neptune a big, fat 'fuck you' finger for me, eh?

SN Greg Wright - Brother no problem, but I'm wishing you a LONG life before we get to those points where we have to make those decisions.

That is sad news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.
I know that many planes were flew from this nation to Europe by female pilots so that the men who were pilots could fight the Germans.
Hopefully other national cemeteries already contain the remains of the WASPS who have died.
I suspect that WASPs are buried in Arlington cemetery already. The periodic changes in authorization fro burial at Arlington got more stringent over teh past year because of space limitations until they open up more sections.

Sir I don't foresee there ever being "more space" at Arlington. You go there and you can see where they've added over the years, and there isn't much left. And they can't take much more land being Henderson Hall is right there with the Sheraton, and the AF memorial is also right there on land that could be used to expand Arlington. Maybe some of the stray Pentagon land. I would support taking some of the land back for this use, but it would be one HELL of a political battle. Developers vs. Vets. Who do you think would loose? I can't use Eminent Domain, but a developer sure can.

SSG Warren Swan - There is a wide area over by the Pentagon that is not occupied yet. Every year or so I get emails from DoD about the requirements to be buried in Arlington and West point which is my preferred burial ground - West Point is tougher because they haven't expanded yet - currently anybody who received a Silver Star or above is authorized to be buried in West point along with their spouse. Others are decided on a case by case basis
As of a two months ago when I checked, the waiting time for Arlington National Cemetery is approaching 6 months from death to internment for most people. SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL.

LTC Stephen F. - Thanks Sir. I mentioned some of the Pentagon land being used. I'd recommend North and South Parking so those who send us places get to see first hand the results of the decisions they make, but I'd be happy just being in Arlington. It would definitely be different. As a PVT-SGT I did company and BN runs through the "Boneyard" and when we got near the Tomb, it was quicktime and we pay our respects, 100m later, back to running. Later on it'll be me catching a "lift" in the "Boneyard" that I ran in years ago. It would finally come full circle, but I have a lot of hell raising to do between now and then. I'm definitely in no rush to get there.
