RP Members what are your thoughts on Veterans in Politics? Do we need to get more veteran into public office?
It’s a wintry holiday in Boston, so schools are closed, workers have the day off and, despite the frigid weather, a few hundred folks have come out to watch a military-themed parade and hear an Army band play patriotic tunes beneath the statehouse’s glittering gold dome. A few train stops away in Harvard Square, Emily Cherniack is outlining a very different way of recognizing those who have served their country. She’s determined to convince military veterans to sign up for duty in a world she says badly needs them: politics.

In a word YES. We are too often forgotten about by our political so called leaders. They talk a good story during the election but soon forget us. And for any of the current ones that thing the VA is just fine need kicked out of office.

This TED Talk is very appropriate in this conversation. I love how he explains where the Term IDIOT comes from. In the Birthplace of Democracy. It comes from the word for someone that doesn't participate in Government.
