Given how well current gun control laws work, e.g., Chicago, will these executive actions "potentially save lives" if criminals continue to give American jurisprudence the finger?
REPORT: The president, without giving any specifics, said he’ll be “rolling out these initiatives” over the next several days. He spoke after meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch, FBI Director James Comey and other top officials to review their proposals and finalize his plans.
Obama said their recommendations are “well within my legal authority” and would be supported by “the overwhelming majority of the American people including gun owners.”
“The recommendations that are being made by my team here are ones that are entirely consistent with the Second Amendment,” Obama said, claiming they could “potentially save lives.”

He is delusional and clearly needs immediate medical help. CONGRESS WRITES LAW. Good and fruity may have a pen and a phone but that does not give him the authority above the boundaries of the executive in the sense that he can unilaterally create law. He is a disgrace to the office he holds and history will reflect this.

Crime: possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
Sentence: 15 years in prison
Though Axam had a history of drug abuse and felony offenses, the crime for which he was imprisoned occurred in December of 2001.
After arguing with his daughter outside his Atlanta house, Axam went back inside, retrieved a gun, then went outside and reportedly aimed it at his daughter’s boyfriend, who was sitting in a car. Axam proceeded to fire “one of two shots in [the boyfriend’s] direction,” then fled into the woods when the police came after him.

Crime: Three counts each of armed bank robbery and using a firearm during a violent crime
Sentence: 48 years in prison
Butler robbed three banks at gunpoint in 1991 – one on June 4, another on July 10, and the third on November 22. She reportedly purchased a .25 caliber pistol in San Antonio two days before the first crime. Though she appealed her guilty verdicts, the U.S. Court of Appeals upheld her convictions.
