In my humble opinion which only goes back to 1969, things have advanced towards A Total Force Policy out of Necessity. We were called Weekend Warriors for years in the Reserves. But that started changing with more and more Wars and Conflicts that caused recalls of Reserves and Guard. During Desert Shield/Storm, there were many problems noted in after action reports such as the need for direct communications between different branches of service fighting in the same Theater. All military forces have their own traditions but in times of critical missions, we all should be unified to make us stronger. May God Always Bless Our Military and Veterans!!!
