CPO Tim Dickey I believe we will see a lot of these going forward in the future. Companies are spending billions of dollars to stop the breeches when they should be spending more money on how to handle them when they do happen and how to lesson the exposure to PCI and delegate information. Breeches are going to happen - its a fact of life! As technology gets more sophisticated, so to the criminals and hackers! Just an opinion!

COL Mikel J. Burroughs, where there's a will, there's a way and the DBIR only shows the tip of the iceberg. I got through several rounds of audit compliance each year, so I can appreciate my company's efforts to get the information out to other businesses. That said, my grandfather told my dad, "Son, locks are there to keep honest people honest."

CPO Tim Dickey That is awesome - I love some of the old sayings that our parents and grandparents handed down! He is absolutely right! I just went through a conference where one of the former Cyber Security Chiefs for former President Bush spoke about these threats and she stated that they will never be completely contained and now companies are doing a better job of limiting the intel that the hackers can reach and contacting their clients and individuals prior to the media getting a hold of it. They are now working on damage control along with constantly updating their backdoors!

Thanks CPO Tim Dickey for providing the link to the 2015 Data Breach Investigations Report (DBIR). That was one of the most significant data breaches in this nation's history. Hopefully are personal information is much better protected now,

LTC Stephen F., I hope you are fight, but I fear that our information is no safer today than what it was over a year ago.

Maybe, just maybe our government can be blamed for the illegal data mining. The FBI threatened an American programmer who wanted to blow the whistle on the Chinese about 10 years ago. They wanted to keep it in house.

MAJ Ken Landgren, as I say to my staff and senior management, bad news doesn't get better with age. Data breaches are the worst for me professionally.
