Do you support a national movement to BAN "Sharia Law" from being used as defense in US Courts (both criminal and civil)?
Bear in mind we already have one Supreme Court Justice that is on record saying that the US should keep international laws in mind when judging cases. -

Our laws are OUR laws. When people come to OUR country they are bound by OUR laws. When we go to other countries, are we not bound by THEIR laws? Our laws should be enforced as written and intended, and not based on every and any religious, cultural, or extra-political ideology. If some wish to enforce sharia, or any other form of law, then those desires should be memorialized in the proper manner into LAW as an act of Congress, or, more appropriately, by the individual States Legislatures.

There is absolutely no need as each state's criminal code and the criminal sections of the United States Code are the only criminal statutes that can be used in this country.
The only thing a ban of Sharia law would do is make uneducated voters happy while wasting more taxpayer dollars.
Sharia law is ALREADY meaningless in all fifty states and in the federal courts.

You are all correct. The Mayor alone does not have that authority. BUT, this is Seattle and all he needs is a few clowncil members to go along with it, AND believe me there are more than a few that will go along with it. and this is a city that won't do anything to stop him.
This a city that has elected an avowed Socialist (unlike Bern-out who hides behind the Democratic-Socialist moniker) to the Clowncil twice. And he is and has taken a page out of 0bama's playbook with his "pen and phone" method of governing; the Clowcil, like congress does nothing to stop him because the majority of them agree with him.
Case in point, he took $66,000 of city funds, without notifying the clowncil to paint "Rainbow" crosswalks in the predominantly gay area of Capital Hill.
If there is anywhere in the US that this can happen, it is here.

CPO Frank Coluccio - No, the city and the state also lack the authority to implement Sharia law. This is a ridiculous discussion, Sharia law can only be imposed on Muslims, and only to the extent that it doesn't violate any local, state or federal laws.
A Muslim-owned bank can adopt a no-interest policy voluntarily, but no city, state or federal governing body short of an amendment to the US constitution can even impose such restrictions on non-Muslims.

LTC (Join to see) - Thank you for repeatedly stressing this! Right now, however, I think there is a terribly strong push by a large portion of the voters to do just that, except in their case i its "Christian" law they want. EIther goes against what this country was founded on.
