I suspect this is a normal WESTPAC deployment, which happen all the time. It's noteworthy now because of how it can be seen as a response to the recent missile installations.

Greg, the difference is that normally the Numbered Fleet Flagship is not with the CVSG...

LCDR Rabbah Rona Matlow - Commander, the Stennis is home ported in Washington (which makes me think this is a WESTPAC), and, as you know, the Blue Ridge is home ported in Japan -- so she'd be around anyway, albeit generally with the Washington. However, you might be right. God knows I've been wrong before, heh.

All I can say is that in all my deployments, I never had a Numbered Fleet Flagship join us...

The blue ridge probably just crossed paths with the strike group on their way to their next port vist

How else should we respond to their aggressive actions? We do need to back our allies there.

Ummm...they hold a chunk of our debt, have "favored trading status" with us, etc. They ARE our ally. For all intents and purposes.

Here we go. Sabre rattling on high. Very real for those on the front line. I hope cooler heads prevail.
