Ah. . . . . Nah. Most of the battleships sunk in World War II were sunk by air power. Without the air assets at sea to provide top cover at sea, the Kiev and its sisters will be called by their code name . . . Floating Target.

Those old 16 inch guns, while great back in their day, are now obsolete. Bigger is not always better when it comes to military technology.

Sgt Justin DavisCrowe This is because they cannot afford to build new ships IMO. When they built their military equipment, the reason a lot of it was so much larger than the west's is because their technology was behind the west's. That is why when we were in the process of going to the moon our rockets were so much smaller than the USSR's

SGM Steve Wettstein - Yeah those Ruskies always go with the lowest of lows on budgets and spending on things and make them bigger to overcompensate, but the bottom line is their crap just don't work.
