Here's a VA experience that will have you scratching your heads:
I walked up to the check in desk at the Palo Alto VA Hospital and had to wait while the clerk finished her coffee and donuts ..then she looked at me and asked "Now what is your problem?"... I said "Just here to check in Ma'am" she asked me for my last four and my VA ID Card & I gave her that.
Then she said we don't show an appointment for a Mr Cunnally Thomas...there are not any last name Thomases on my computer appointment schedule. So I explained my first name is Thomas and Cunnally is my last name so then she said "Why didn't you say that in the first place so go take a seat and we call you" Maybe she had something in her coffee or was just not too bright?? But that one is hard to top but if you can; go for it.........

That is very sad that Rep. Ann McLane Kuster admitted that Congress may have to redraft part of the initial legislation authorizing the Veterans Affairs Department to grant claims compensation to Persian Gulf War veterans suffering from multi-symptom ailments that make up Gulf War Illness SP5 Mark Kuzinski and that she said "it was not Congress' intent to require VA accept an undiagnosed multi-symptom disorder as a condition.:
