When POTUS was confronted in the 2008 Presidential race by Senator Hillary Clinton, that he had not "crossed the threshold to serve as commander in chief." and that she could "better answer the 3 am phone call" He brought out top ranking military members to contradict her statement, such as "Tony" McPeak, the former Air Force chief of staff and a four-star general, stepped forward to offer assurances that they were "comfortable with [POTUS'] ability to lead the military."
Our current National Security concerns are a major issue to be addressed in the current Presidential race. As the Democratic front runner will Ms. Clinton be able to do the same, to ease the concerns of voters? If she were unable to do so would it be a large enough factor to cause her to loose the election? Questions regarding her integrity and honesty and her involvement or lack of action regarding Benghazi are constantly brought up in the news. Will these things effect the probability of top ranking military officers to endorse her? "Mrs. Clinton will need the patronage of such a group to publicly sanction her record on national security and diplomacy, act as proxy character references, and thwart opponents' attempts to gain advantage doing the same."

Active duty, top ranking, military officer have no business endorsing any candidate. A politicized, active duty, military is a highway to military intimidation of the civilian government and eventually military dictatorship. I pray that today's flag officers understand the "appearance of impropriety" and refuse to get involved in election politics beyond their vote in the voting booth.

Maj Kevin "Mac" McLaughlin
Gen McPeak was not active duty at the time. However he's also not a General the Air Force is very proud of either.

This is what answers me to no end, as a government IT professional I know what she did is illegal no matter what easy you look at it so why have no top level ITb personnel said it? If I out my people did ANY of the things she did we would never be seen outside of steel bars again and because she is rich she receives a free pass? Arrg

In my opinion. Nothing will change. There were those that did no like Obama when he took office yet continued with their careers. Same will happen if Hillary Clinton takes office, or even if Donald Trump takes office.
