I think I see what the author means, but am not sure of the intent. Is he saying that Trump is the evil we know, so vote for him, and Cruz is the evil we don't and shouldn't trust?

I have absolutely no idea of what the intent of this article is, either. I'm still trying to figure it out. Honestly, it just sounds like a rant against both Trump and Cruz, but then ending with Trump is worse because he's more popular?
The writer, Dean Obeidallah, also appears to determine (with zero statistical evidence) that the Muslims and Latinos are uniting against Trump. Somehow I think it's the other way around. I know Muslims and Mexicans who are both for AND against Trump, but the ones FOR him are much more involved and vocal about why. Those against appear to be relaying what they see on TV, "he's racist because the news said so."

Or, people should support the best candidate, without regard to their race, ethnicity, or gender, or that of the candidate either. That would be great.
