God gave us two ears and one mouth for a reason..... because you should listen twice as much as you talk.

PVT James Strait - "Hoof-n-Mouth" I am going to plagiarize that phrase... but, giving you credit now before I do so. Love it.

So true. He needs to show me he can listen to advisors and think before he speaks.

I am kind of reading into your questions. Sorry if I am off base.

I have no problem with a President that says "Right now, I'm not prepared to give you a short concise answer to your question. You'll get my response to that tomorrow at the White House Press Briefing." and then does it. I have no use for a President that needs handlers to make sure he doesn't shoot himself in the foot. I have no use for a President that has to explain that he didn't mean what he said yesterday." I have no use for a President that does not give calm, clear, concise statements of where he stands on an issue, if he is not willing to stand by them.

Are we really trying to go back to back alley abortions?

Capt Mark Strobl - You pretty well nailed it. They want to talk about divisive topics so that they don't have to talk about their plans to actually move the nation forward. Those plans usually involve throwing money at a problem hoping it will go away, so it makes sense to talk about polarizing social issues.

SP5 Christine Conley - The real sad truth is that what happens to an unwanted child? If the parents don't just dump the baby in a dumpster, they may choose to drop the child at a fire station or other safe haven where the child becomes a ward of the state. In the case of a special needs child, that can become a huge financial burden to the state. Even if the child does not have special needs it is another child into a social services system that is already overtaxed. These children do not have a chance right out of the womb.

For those unwanted children that the parent keeps, they can be subject to neglect and abuse. The parent will remind them that they were unwanted, a hugely destructive thing for anyone to experience let alone a child in their home.

I am not saying that it happens in all situations, and I am certainly not saying that it doesn't happen in homes where the pregnancy was wanted. What I am saying is that the likelihood is higher when the pregnancy was unwanted, and could not be terminated. Ultimately, I don't care whether a woman has an abortion or not. It is not my child so my opinion is irrelevant. I don't think it should be used in lieu of contraception, and other birth control methods, but it is not my issue.

Two things that have historically existed since the beginning of recorded time.... prostitution and abortion. It will be a great day in America when education makes abortion socially and economically obsolete.

Till then we have the likes of Bristol Palin roaming the nation teaching our youth that abstinence is the right way..... for everyone else but her that is.

Tyra Lynne Wahl - Yeah, one kinda loses that moral high ground when they are knocked up out of wedlock. Just a thought, if they made abortion fully illegal, would they make prostitution legal just to balance things out?
