It still boggles my mind that a Soldier, who was defending the most vulnerable population there is - a child - would be reprimanded for this. Is this not what "living the Army Values" is supposed to be? I know plenty of people that would be willing to do the same thing he did, despite career risks. The day you turn the other cheek to a victimized child is the day you are no longer a member of humanity. Good for him.

CPT (Join to see) both he and his CO responded to a tearful Afghan mother's pleas for help in behalf of her victimized son. But the brass took issue and relieved them both after career-ending reprimands--until it became a human rights/child sexual exploitation issue in social media and with Congressman Duncan Hunter. I am glad some refused to look the other way...

This was a no brainer. This Decorated Solider should have never been put though the crap he had to go through.

CWO4 Al Heb 5 freakin' years of crap, too. His level of commitment to serve in the military is a pretty amazing story, a tale proving that no good deed goes unpunished!

Thank goodness the Board for Correction of Military Record took out the comment from his eval that got him admin separated.
