"Would you be surprised to learn that it was the same people who laid the groundwork for Nazi obedience training?" Just a thought, these are also the same people that laid the ground work for the training program of the US Army. So I don't see the coalition between Nazi's and the modern educational system, but I will give you this, in 3 years Germany owned Europe. Must be doing something right. We were considered one of the greatest countries in the world...right up till hippies starting teaching our children. Now Timmy thinks America owes him something and all he has to do is sit and wait for whatever that is to come to him. Just a thought.

Indoctrination is fine so long as the "right" people are doing the indoctrination?

CPT Jack Durish Ask any drill instructor? Or fight next to another soldier. I think it works pretty good.

I went to private (Catholic) school so I cannot speak for public schools. I feel discipline and respect should be taught (enforced) in schools (to a point).

I feel that discipline and respect should be taught at home and practiced in schools. In the event of failure of discipline, refer offenders to home

Restated.
Although the only issue I see with this is some basic etiquette. I grew up in a family of immigrants so respect and discipline in my culture may differ from what is taught in American culture. I was corrected by my teacher once. (It wasn't anything bad, just not a common American practice)
