I was at LeJeune during the applicable period and 16 years after I was there I experienced significant medical problems. I've been debating trying to file a claim if for no other reason, it would be nice to have some back-up medical insurance just in case. After 70 surgeries, two transplants, and over $2 million spent keeping me alive, medical insurance becomes a top priority. I would be interested in hearing from anybody who's been through the special procedure, what to do to file the claim, what to expect, and whether in the end it's worth it.

Sgt Vaughn Sizemore, I'm providing the link to the Cam Lejeune Family Member Program (CLFMC); however, the benefits are very similar for Veterans, such as yourself, that were stationed there during the appropriate time period. Use this as the basis for considering a claim with the VA.
