This is a great tool for commanders. It was a challenge for readiness NCO to gather all the information for Commanders. With the drawdown retaining Soldier readiness needs to be at its highest.

How was it difficult in any way before? MEDPROS would send data to DRRS-A(NetUSR) to report that a Soldier is Medically Non-Deployable. It just looks like a more detailed tool for Commanders. It will help prevent Soldiers from showing as Non-Deployable for a simple fix. This should replace the need for Squad Leaders since the commander will handle Soldier issues. (Joking)

The old system took an approval authority to grant a CDR/1SG permission to access. As a 1SG I used this tool to get ahead of the Dental, shots ,etc. I also had to haggle to get viewing rights to EMILPO to track personnel actions. I never trusted a PFC in S1 to process the paperwork. The Old CSA put forth an HR Metrics to gauge readiness and my BDE CDR fracked the Company level units by that and would use that during evaluations and awards. I am biased towards any tool that will assist and streamline the process for CMD Teams.

The system I had used was NetUSR, which would show everything from various systems to record Unit Readiness. This system was accessed by all unit commanders, or a Unit Readiness NCO if the commander delegated it. This system replaced the manual Unit Status Reporting system used by units. Although it only updates when you pull the monthly report. I do agree with you that it is still everyone's duty to track what is going on with their Soldiers. If you allow a computer to tell you everything about them you will lose touch with the Soldiers as human beings.

TSgt (Join to see) - Understand, but ask anyone of your Soldiers when their Dental Appointments are or when their HEP A Booster is do... Deer in the headlights..

This system is even better for 1SG's. When we went through the training I was amazed that the Army finally got it right. The dashboard is great. Everything you need to know about a Soldier is right there. As the commanders designate you have all the same rights minus open commo with doc.
