Not only do we have to keep the Electoral College system but also repeal the 17th Amendment which provided for popular election of Senators. This Amendment has been even more destructive of our nation than Prohibition and that Amendment was repealed.

PO3 Donald Murphy - I'm going to leave you here. I can't think of anything more rational to try and explain it to you. Best

CPT Jack Durish - Unless you can prove that every single person in every single state is going to vote a specific way with no change, then there is no rationality in the reason for the electoral vote.

And to be fair to your line of thinking, what was the turnout last election? 55%? So if only barely half of the voter eligible voters turned out, that's hardly cause for fear, is it?

Not all can vote as they wish. There are some states that have laws against voting against the people's will. https://www.archives.gov/federal-register/electoral-college/electors.html

Yes, I do SSG Pete Fleming. I would even go so far as to say that only Maine and Nebraska follow the intention of The Framers. If I were Emperor for five minutes, I'd do away with the statewide "winner-take-all" electoral votes.

This video is complete garbage. Aside from completely missing the reason for the electoral college, they forgot to mention that no elector is required to vote for the candidate they were elected to vote for. Yes, you got it, the electors can change their vote at will.

If the original vote in Florida in 200 had stood, West Virginia wouldn't have mattered.

There was a need for the electoral college, but no more. We need to get rid of the electoral college.
