There are always a percentage willing to torture, kill and ignore any moral or ethical boundaries. It will be up to the strong and morally grounded members to stop and disobey. Illegal is illegal, but as you know that means nothing to some.

Leadership is ensuring the accomplishment of the mission by providing Purpose, Motivation, and Direction. Trump has not done ANY of those three. He has MANAGED a lot of projects to their end, and he has SUPERVISED many individuals in his lifetime. There is a big difference between being a "Leader" and a manager or supervisor. He might want to get his definitions correct.
As far as the troops doing as he tells them to, for everyone who claims Obama is running out GO's, Obama won't be able to touch the number of troops PERIOD who will leave service than take a chance at following an unlawful order that directly targets innocent people. But there WILL be one who follows, and when that one does, I can guarantee he'll be left flapping in the wind by himself, and Trump will distance himself FAR away from that poor sap who was only following orders. Mai Li massacre. out of ALL the individuals who planned and took part in it, only the LT is doing time? 17 officers knew and planned it, but the lowest one took the hit for the team?

Interesting points and history. You only give an opinion about one. How about an opinion about the other; pretty soon will be gut check time and we will have to make a decision.

SFC (Join to see) - HRC is the EXACT same. She's equally as worthless as a person, not due to her sex, or any other thing that could be taken as a form of discrimination. Like it or not, her resume for President is much better, has solid footing should a debate happen between the two, but she won't get my vote any more than Trump would. She also is not a leader. She wants to present an aura of dedication and professionalism, but I've had privates who were more effective that her and that was on day one reporting into the unit. I don't think we'd have the same issues with troops leaving in mass, or senior leaders hauling ass/ Some of those Obama replaced were good candidates for removal. McCrystal being one of them. McCrystals staff thought he was McAuthor for some reason, and wrote checks he had to pay. Whereas Obama and Bush both had issues listening to folks who's job was to advise them, Clinton has the benefit of learning from both of them, and hopefully (I doubt it), would fare better. It's the same thing in the Army when Soldiers ask how to become an effective leader; look at the good and emulate that. Look harder at the bad, and figure out why you won't do this and make mental notes.
Gut check time will come in November, and my gut will be at home sleeping after eating. I know that is the wrong answer, and with that, I'm part of the problem not the solution, but I refuse to be a part of this election cycle with these two running. The winner is them, but America clearly is the looser.

Looking at HRC’s resume from 1969 to present I would say it shows the wrong kind of experience and poor judgment after poor judgment. I like your adjective of “worthless” for both candidates.

Interesting you should mention McCrystal. Some mention him as a good VP pick for her. I don’t personally know the guy. I may sit this one out as you say, it goes against my grain but I have difficulty pulling the lever for either.

SFC (Join to see) - I can see what you mean, but it becomes subjective. Your MOS has requirements you have to achieve to keep progressing. You know them well being there was a NCO who told you. Now who is there to mentor the SecState? Not a single NCO to be found. In the pentagon a few years ago, folks were rather warm at the fact that GO's were retiring on Friday coming back on Monday and "mentoring" his replacement? Dude worked FOR you last week and in 48 hours has no clue, and you're making six figures to tell him? I see a problem with any elected office. We all see what we think is the right way to do it, but we don't see the back door games that are played. There is no true job description for President or Congress. There are stipulations, but no requirement for experience. So just about anyone would suck for awhile, or longer.

The choices, IAW the Constitution and rules made by the states is Hillary and Trump. The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea, being a sailor, I am going with the sea. Things just seem to go to pot when the Devil has his/her way.

MCPO Roger Collins It's not just history that says third parties are doomed, it's math. (With I think 3 historically quirky moments where the 2nd of the two parties was replaced by a third) but at this stage in the game it's highly unlikely to ever happen without substantial electoral rule changes. The point in voting Libertarian is not to to actually elect one (except maybe maybe in local or state elections), it is to signal the need for policy changes to the other parties in a meaningful way. Voting R or D is essentially meaningless. Being registered as Independent makes you "in play" as far as the parties are concerned and voting L sends a clear signal that you are an engaged and active member of the body politic, whose vote could be had for the right policy alignment.

Capt Richard I P. - Best of luck, but I see a little dog trying to wag a big tail. I liked the Paul's, but the voters didn't.

Sometimes it isn't about having enough votes to win. Sometimes it is about having enough votes for the major candidates to say "hey, I need some more votes, maybe I better lean towards that position."
