This is what we need to do for all Service Members - arm them to defeat the terrorists in our country. They need to know we are not afraid of them.

That is great news SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. It is way over due as far as I am concerned but I am never the less thankful that "The Navy is moving to place armed watch standards at recruiting stations nationwide, a move that comes a year after shootings at a recruiting station and a reserve center in Chattanooga, Tennessee, claimed the lives of four Marines and a sailor.

From a manpower perspective, this will be very taxing. Where are we getting these extra Sailors to stand this up? Why not train the recruiters and let them carry in their office? No need to bring the weapon outside the office but have a locker in the office to store the weapons and maybe have the station LPO armed since they usually stay in the office.

The armed guards will probably be the SEABEES the Navy has been trying to transfer to the Master At Arms rating. (MA) There has been little reaction from the Bees because they aren't looking for a shipboard job.
