Hopefully the US Navy is proposing adequate sustainment funding for these ships granted an extended life of service SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL
Maintenance and support are critical aspects the major weapons systems including surface and submarine ships. All too often the services have opted for the new and glamorous systems and not adequately supported the systems they have.

The US Navy and by proxy, US Government are clusterf**king it as you'd imagine. We import close to 97% of everything by sea. So by that maxim, we should have a Navy of at least 600 ships of which 100 would be sea-lane insuring submarines. But see...that would make too much sense. And we can't have that, can we?

If I read right, it's actually only going to add about one deployment to each.

Warm Fuzzy Place in My Heart for Submarines after being Mother Hen for them during "Blind Man's Bluff" and Watching the Ohio go thru Overhaul in Bremerton. Also used to do DIA Courier Runs to SUBBASE Bangor, WA. Still not going down in one though.

Ah........scared for no reason. More money and better food, whats wrong with that? Besides, contrary to popular belief, the rooms the same. Your sub rack is the same size as your ship rack. Plus, less time at sea.
