The average person follows mass media. Mass media currently pushes the vision that Veterans are unstable misfits due to PTSD and more. Mass media also pushes that blacks are looking to overpower whites and the government, versus demand equality (I'll save my rant on that issue this time).
It looks bad. most people follow the masses = mass media and popular opinion
It looks negatively upon Veterans, Service Members, and black americans. Those who will see this as an individual act are in the minorities.

Homelessness is a hella stressor, among many others. Everyone has different thresholds, stories, backgrounds, and times when they need to get help in some way.

I think there is plenty reason for concern in many ways .PTSD, TBI, military-specific issues and situations affect every Veteran in some way - for better and worse. Some more negative totally than positive. The stigma doesn't help.

Thanks for the share, by the way. I read the article but I was NOT watching a 25 minute news clip.

It's a shame that this is happening....and it's a shame about the MEDIA...and their instigating and flaming the fires on this subject....and I am now going to start my rant....Many officers are VETS...many VETS have PTSD...but most VETS get help and are not going off the deep end...but this cop who was shot...he was a cop...doing his job and he was murdered! FOR WHAT? because a man was shot and killed by two cops...this cop had NOTHING to do with that! NOTHING! and the mother was on TV of the guy killed by cops stating her son was a good boy...etc...yet, later we find out he has a long rap sheet...JUST like in FERGUSON where the mother said her boy was a GOOD boy...BOLOGNA!...bottom line is MOST cops are good...like at least 95% of more....THEY DON'T deserve to be MURDERED in COLD BLOOD.

SGT (Join to see) I could not repsond to you below because I had blocked that person...but I have to disagree....yes, mass media leads people to believe things that are mostly un true, but the part of blacks looking to over power...I have to disagree with...I watched several interviews with BLM leaders and it sounds like it's exactly what they want and trying to do...I watched a town hall meeting and listened to several invited guests to include preachers, and every day people....veterans and other folks...and half of them sounded like they want every thing to change and want to be totally in charge....it blew me away how some of these folks think...OMG!

But I digress...the shooting and murdering of Police officers needs to stop...and the people who are doing this need to be prosecuted and given the death penalty.

Also, what really PISSES me off is that both of my sons have experienced POLICE brutality, but they don't want to go around shooting and killing the police...I watched my son get taken behind a police van...when he was escorted away he had no cuts or bruises or scrapes...yet, by the time I got to see him a few hours later, he had been beat up...he peacefully surrendered to the police and was in handcuffs...and he got beat up...so the POINT I WANT TO MAKE IS IT HAPPENS TO ALL RACES...NOT JUST BLACK and I AM SICK AND TIRED AND SICK TO DEATH ABOUT BLACKS WHINING about POLICE BRUTALITY BECAUSE IT HAPPENS TO ALL RACES>>>> I STAND CORRECTED...it is not just black folk who complain, there are a number of races who have joined in and making these complaints too......

ALL RACES...but you don't see these other races starting RIOTS...BURNING DOWN buildings, blowing up cars, robbing, stealing and PILFERING...NO...and you don't see these other races going out and MURDERING POLICE OFFICERS IN COLD BLOOD.....Over racism...

This is BOLOGNA and it needs to stop..

Sgt Kelli Mays, I think those interviews are largely one sided and the guests are asked loaded questions. I've seen both radical interviews, and nonviolent interviews. ive seen blacks say that they don't condone the riots and destruction that goes on and they're embarrassed by what they see. They don't like the WLM slogan, and they say all lives matter, no matter what color you are. I have witnessed police brutality that lead to the deaths of three teenaged boys in 1967 in Detroit, when I went there for the racial riots. It has continued throughout the years. The main thing the blacks are upset about are the police shootings of unarmed men. When we see videos of two black men being killed, in different states, and it looks like they were murdered, we have to be concerned about it. Then the slo mo videos come out and I can't see any difference in those, it pisses me off. The man shot and killed in Minnesota was murdered in my opinion. He was reaching for his wallet, like the policeman told him to, after the man had told the cop he had a carry license for a pistol he had with him. You only get to see what the news media wants to show you. I don't think we got to see the entire video. It concerns me now, if I get stopped, and tell the cop I have a licensed open carry permit and my weapon is with me, what are they going to do? I'm sorry about your sons being brutalized by the cops. I hope it doesn't happen again. I hope I'm not rambling on and on about my answer. I believe, in our country, we are all human and have human rights, and those rights are being abused, but with the senseless killings of eight police officers, I can understand how careful the cops are when they approach an unknown person who may be armed, and may want to kill a cop. I would be on guard myself. Meaning if I think my life is in danger, the occupant of the vehicle better do what I tell them to do, or they may be shot. It's a war going on in our country and that's how the cops look at it.

SGT (Join to see) - I understand....BUT! when pulled over by the police...do what they say...when the officer tells you to put both hands on the wheel, put them on the wheel...don't reach to your back and try and get something...
in 2015 there were 905 white folks shot or killed by Police Officers...I can't remember ever seeing ONE of those on the National news...only local shootings here in San Antonio, most of which are either Hispanic or Black and a few white folks.
In 2015 there were 231 BLACK folks shot or killed by Police Officer...ONE third of the number of WHITE folks killed or shot, a lot of them are SPLATTERED all over all of the news channels, social media and BIG deals are made of it.

IT IS LOP SIDED...ONE SIDED and Obama and other Black leaders to include BLM and even some white and Hispanic people HARP on this as if White people and POLICE OFFICERS are out to get the Black man. BULL CRAP!

SSG Trust Palmer - You are right and I stand corrected...it's not just black folk who are complaining......It's many races who are involved in the complaints.....

.........white, hispanic, orientals and blacks don't get a fair shot at justice too...I am now a believer that the more money you have, the better you chances are to get off on charges brought against you...when you have a public defender, your chances are less...most blacks, i imagine have public defenders...as did my kids....but had we had money and could higher a good attorney, I think my kids would not be in prison now for what had happened....MONEY talks in this MESSED up JUDICIAL system...

As for Baltimore...it never should have happened...it's jumping to conclusions and throwing out information that get folks stirred up...that DA i Baltimore should have her license taken away.
The link you provided of Kentucky fans after a basketball game who were runk and burned jerseys..and furniture.......though it was wrong and terrible of him to do...it's NOTHING like FERGUSON or BALTIMORE where MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars of damage was caused...with burning down WHOLE buildings and over 200 cars etc...by THOUSANDS of angry folk over the supposed killing/murder or one black man/men which turned out to be false....and EVEN after it was proven that there was never a "HANDS UP DON'T SHOOT" incident by NUMEROUS of witness's, mostly black who lived in the neighborhood and others who actually witnessed the event....that he never put his hands up and said "don't shoot....even after it's totally proven...the BLM group still goes around in their rallies/marches/gathering and shout "hands up don't shoot." why do this...if not to instigate and stir things up and get more people to hate cops???
And I'm not saying all Black folks whine about it...I should have been more specific...cause I've seen white folk and Hispanic folk and even oriental folk in the BLM and complaining about it too....but the fact remains that this WHOLE SITUATION is messed up...and these FOLKS who are complaining and DRUDGING up all of this VIOLENCE has to stop and realize that they are causing more harm than anything and you cant' fix this or get everyone to a better place by or with VIOLENCE

I live near the city and go to the city to feed the homeless. You only read about it. You have to be in the area to understand where people are coming from. And I think she is an amazing you AA who holds a bright future.

A riot is a riot regardless! No one was shot nor made to look criminal when these type of riots happen. However, you will read and hear about black people day in and day out on the news.

I put my hands and the air and say don't shoot because that's exactly what I mean. It shows you that I'm attempting to comply with any command.
I'm sick of not being treated with the same respect as others. I see way too much and a change will come.

I agree that this NATION is messed up. How do you fix what you complain about? What changes can you make?
