Thanks for sharing SFC Joe S. Davis Jr., MSM, DSL. I hope this information benefits many service members and veterans.
I am very familiar with my VA disability benefits.

I'm currently rated at 60% service-connected disabled. I've been thinking about filing a new claim for Gulf War Syndrome. I seem to fit all the criteria for it. Do you think I should file?

I've also considered filing a PTSD claim. The reason I never did in the first place was because I was never "boots on ground" and saw people get blown up, shot, etc. The kinds of things I imagine a lot of vets with PTSD did go through. But the more I've talked with my Brother and Sister vets who do have a PTSD rating made me realize that I do have it, or at least Anxiety Disorder. Again, do you think I should file for it?

I'm afraid of losing my Second Amendment rights with a PTSD diagnosis, and I'm also afraid that if I file new claims, the VA may decide to reevaluate my existing rating and possibly lower it because they think "Oh, you've gotten better. No more need for that rating!"

So what do you think I should do? Any advice or comments on my concerns?
