Can I get some explanation on this? How on earth can he get away with this? You aren't that "type of guy? Really? If this had been anyone else on earth, they'd be building a new wing just for you, but with you under the cement foundation. You are a rapist. A Chomo. And all you got a two years.

A little research indicates that sex with minors is and remains illegal in OH. What this guy's case centered on was there is a provision in Ohio law that states if you're a "person of influence" such as teacher or a coach, there is an added penalty for engaging in sex with a minor. The cop sought to have that added penalty removed, because police aren't, according to his argument, a person of influence, and when police offers were added to that definition of expanded law, that addition was apparently not done according to rules and laws of Ohio. Unfortunately, he is still a POS child molester who deserves all he gets and then some.

Thanks for the heads up MSG, but if he was convicted and let go, they can't try him again on the same charge can they? Wouldn't that be double jeopardy?

There were at least 3 airmen I knew of at my first duty station that were discharged and jailed because a 15 year old girl trolled around the dorms, lying that she was of age. It's not a higher standard. It's the standard. The ONLY time you get away with this is if you meet someone in a bar at night and they turn out to be minors (because there's an expectation that everyone is of age, onus on the bar), and even that's iffy.

I too have seen this, but yes it IS to a higher standard. As a MP, you expect me to know right from wrong, be equal in how I handle folks, and you ask ANYONE in any branch police force, they'll tell you the same. We ARE held to a higher standard due to our positions, what we are capable of doing, and the lives we can make direct effect on. I'm not degrading any other MOS anywhere, but MP, SP's, MA's whatever can make or break you in five minutes and not raise their voice. Once you're in a cell, hang it up. That is a lot of responsibility for anyone let alone a 18yr old to make. To prove my point, we had a SSG patrol sup who was SHIT HOT!!! We ALL liked working with him. He wasn't about the BS, do your checks, your walkthroughs, and anything else specified by the Desk SGT. He was dimed out by an ex for him getting oral sex from her in the patrol car. This SSG was the Army's newest SPC. They were not playing, and that level of accountability is needed.

I have a GOOD copy on that and I concur. WTH is with a 24 month sentence? So if you have a badge, a gun, and a boner, you can have sex with anyone and not be held to a higher standard of conduct?
