SSG Trust Palmer I will have to look at the video again but I agree with your opening sentence 100%. Why cant we all be treated equally. We are no different. As a retired military police officer, appointed to border patrol and NYPD, I generally support the police but not when they do stupid chit. They have no reason to abuse people, black or white, yellow or green and they should be held fully accountable when they do screw up which lately is often. There have been some cases where the individual deserved to be shot but in others they did not, such as the black man shot in the back by the cop in South Carolina who then drops his taser next to his body to cover up his crime of murder. This cop deserves to be in jail where he is and I hope he stays there a long time. The man who shot that video should be given a heroism award for coming forward!
We are equal and as you can see from my profile picture, I am lily white but I'd be the first to support a black man when he's right just like Id be the first to punish a police officer when he's wrong. You are right, why cant we all be equal and just get along. We'd be a much better country.

Obviously the video is skewed to prove a point, did the black woman actually have a gun? Was she using her son as a human shield? Did she actually shoot at officers? All it says was she missed her day in court, officers arrived to serve a warrant, and she refused to open the door.
As for the white woman... I think officers would have been in the right to shoot her dead. The fact that she endangered to public with high speed chases, stealing police cars, going for the shotgun... sounds like suicide by cop. I'm a cold hearted SOB, and say "Give her her wish, better than storing her in prison at $100K per year." Of course that's great in theory, but there's a psychological aspect to taking a human life, and someone who can do it without needing therapy afterwards certainly shouldn't be on the police force.

SSG Trust Palmer - There ain't many of us left. I don't go around beating kids, but I've shut many a kid up at the grocery store just by gently talking to them... apparently I'm terrifying.

SPC David Hannaman - I get the respect that I have at the high school because they know that I don't play with them. Most importantly they know that I love ALL of them. They weren't the most respectful children when we first met, but now I call them my babies. I don't literally beat them.

SSG Trust Palmer - That's what it's all about... set expectations, respect, and love kids, and they'll meet those expectations and respect and love you back.
