Another Commander bites the dust for misconduct and lying about it.

The captain who led Destroyer Squadron 2 was cashiered Wednesday amid an investigation into inappropriate conduct.

Capt. Tony Simmons, head of the Norfolk-based squadron, was fired by Carrier Strike Group 12 head Rear Adm. Roy Kelley on Wednesday after an investigation prompted a "loss of confidence in his ability to command," according to an official release.

Not a big fan of the old lack of confidence charge. If the CO is bad enough to have his career destroyed, it's bad enough to hear the details. Or would that ruin the PC agenda of Ass Carter, the sychophantic follower of Obama?

Whatever he did, he shouldn't have done it, and then lie about it. I can understand not having confidence in him.

It's privacy act law - administrative proceedings aren't public. "Loss of confidence" is a euphemism for saying he made enough mistakes to get fired but at least right now it's not going to a court martial - I'm comfortable that there's a middle ground there.
