We really need to do something about this. Perception influences reaction. Sadly, the public only gets to see news of the bad side. They hear 22 veterans commit suicide every day and, I suppose, fear someone falling on them. Well, most of those are Vietnam vets having nothing to do with today's vets. They see homeless veterans on the street. They don't see successful vets living in homes, raising families, leading normal lives. Maybe "normal" vets need to make themselves more visible.

because thats what they have been told and shown and lead to believe... by the media, their Political Leaders, and their educators and because the Vets Have seen Life thru different eyes and from a different point of view up close and personal...
the Civilians ( with no Military experience) are scared of people who in touch and have a hard Grasp of Reality...

By watching the nightly news this old vet thinks that more than half the general public does have mental problems!
