MCPO Roger Collins according to the sailor she didn't know she was pregnant. Your comment makes me wonder if she truly didn't know, or if she as you suggest, didn't want to miss deployment due to a minor inconvenience (such as pregnancy).

MSG Pat Colby Athletic women have irregular cycles, Stress can cause irregular cycles. There are genetic causes for irregular cycles as well so it is possible. Not having a period for six months, and not being wyrded out by it does seem to be the irregular part.

irregular cycles, light menses (periods) (spotting during pregnancy could be mistaken for menses), not enough hormones to cause menses, and Genetic conditions including having more that one reproductive organs (seen one that had two complete and separate systems (1/25,000,000) and several with two uterus each with its own set of Ovaries and fallopian tubes but sharing a vaginal oping) body make up and how the baby is carried could lead to not being sure of being pregnant. Especially if it was a Primigravida (first pregnancy) she might mistake the baby moving for gas especially if the baby was not a kicker or did not move alot.
