Facts always hurt feelings. I don't know why but, they do.

I just feel a bit more educated on the views of others. You know the old saying "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words could never hurt me"? well that does go a long way with info when given without trying to attack any group and paint them all with one broad stroke. It is when those words become the "sticks and stones" that we have a problem!

Pretty slick site. Let's make an article about one thing, but to keep your attention let's put a video that has nothing to do with what the article itself was about, but the deaths of five Dallas cops? I'm not an insensitive ass, but that cheapens their service to me akin to pimping them out, and even as you scroll down, I want you to keep hearing the Chief talk about the incident.
BTW you could look up anything you want, but in the end, the information is voluntary to be submitted to populate the UCR. If every murder was actually reported, stats would skyrocket and Chicago might be safer than South Beach. So It's a baseline of data, but not the end all be all. Lastly if the information is submitted by a human, it is not perfect and subject to review.

2LT (Join to see) - Ummm no. Data gathered by man is succepible to misinterpretation or manipulation by the reader or submitter. Hence we went into Iraq. Now you posted this in the hopes of using it to garner an argument where the site itself nullified whatever you wanted to say. If you wanted to be serious and not try to flex your intellectual 'muscles', you would've used something that was more 'credible', and would allow the debate to take hold naturally. You used a 'shock' page and there is no further point to this. Good day LT. Maybe you should try talking 'to' your audience and not 'down' to them. It goes a lot farther.

That's why I read only when given a choice.

SGT Efaw (Mick) G. - Those were some great points and were well articulated. Data might not be foolproof, but it paints a more dynamic picture than feelings. Per capita police fatalities are higher. Could it be that people in the US have a much higher propensity for violence towards police? US violent crime also has much different characteristics, frequency, and demographic distributions than most western countries as well. Thanks again for the good points!

SSG Warren Swan - Swan, I don't have anything to prove on here. I prove my worth in the real world. I am just continuing the debate. As I stated in the post, I meant for it to be a starting point for others to look into further data. Any view of talking down was a misinterpretation on your part. You have a good day as well. If it is just a shock page, prove any of the numbers wrong!

But facts don't fit into any agenda for those who wish to keep us at each other's throats. Have Hillary delete those as well.
