Navy Sailor Proudly Refuses to Stand for Anthem - Then Navy Veterans Lower the Boom on Her...

Proudly sits there. Kinda makes you wonder what people think the word "proud" means. Maybe defiantly. Probably ignorantly. Perhaps illegally. But not proudly.

From my understanding, this happened in 2015. An IS who thought it was a good idea to not stand or salute the National Anthem while in uniform. She can't exercise her 1st amendment right to do this. She signed a contract that subjects her to perform the duties and responsibilities of a U.S. Sailor and one of those is to salute the Ensign while in uniform. Also being that you are on a military base, you will honor the flag; whether you're in a car, PT gear, civilian or uniform clothing, you will render honors for the Ensign and while the National Anthem is being played.

I am so disappointed in her as a 2nd class and that she was a shipmate. Her cause may make sense, but she can't do that she did. She disobeyed a lawful order and will be reprimanded.

Why in the world would you serve a country, speak an oath to protect it and the constitution, or sign on the line if you didn't agree with the way things were in that country. She can't say what's happening in the media in the last few years is new. So when she enlisted (which was an actual proud moment for many) she knew what was going on then.
