There is a lot of Cross Influence between Christianity and Islam. I know that the 2nd most important Prophet in Islam is Christ and they do believe in the Virgin Birth.

This is not surprising. John the Baptist was not a Christian. He was the last of the Old Testament prophets. And, while he knew Jesus was the prophesied Messiah, John viewed this through an entirely Jewish lens.
