Well from what I understand and heard when I was stationed at Ft. Campbell back in the 1980's which is several versions of Night Vision technology ago. The Night Vision restricts the vision of the pilots and that is why they train so much at night with it. As many that have worn night vision can attest, it screws up your 3D depth perception and distance perception and I can imagine these items have not improved all that much with pilots that are using it to fly. When I was at Ft.Campbell I saw more than one near miss with Blackhawks. The near misses I saw were centered around the helos attempting to cross anothers path beause the googles are also like wearing horse blinders. So you do not see another Helicopter about to cross your path until it is almost too late to respond.
