Like it or not this article was very broad and biased. While I believe there were true items addressed for transgender people, there were also many points that were stretched to the point of breaking.

I just see a lot of pain, dislike and hate from Paris Lee in this article.

Yes, very emotionally-driven and extremist at times. Once you decipher the emotion from the writing, its easier to grasp some main points.

By the way, thanks for actually reading the article. It has become a trend on RP to simply read the headline and void any content in the article.

I think the situation is quite reversed. Say something less than absolutely 100% supportive of the LGBTQ community and become a social pariah. The schools system should be teaching reading, writing, arithmetic, and correct public behavior (which does not vary based on the gender identity of who you are interacting with). But teachers, school administrators, and government officials in general needs to stay out of morals, ethics, religion, etc. Yes, some people will teach their kids ugly beliefs, or will not handle gender identity questions with compassion. But does anyone want to leave those issues to the state and the fickle electorate.

I agree with and often say things similar to your last statement. Parents and families need to do more instead of pushing such responsibilities to the school system. However, society as a whole can affect change.

SGT (Join to see) - I agree, but not with kids. I pulled my kids from a school system in Seattle where multiple teachers were teaching elementary school kids that spiking old growth lumber so that it couldn't be cut by loggers was valid political speech. (Chainsaws and rail spikes don't mix) and the only reason people join the military is because they are mean.

Maj John Bell - I'm not sure where you're going with this. BLUF, I agree society and family should be more active with many more avenues of life.
