But didn't his campaign run on the promise to repeal Obamacare on his first day in office . Or was that just a lie . He needs to keep his promise to those who voted for him .

The interesting part seems to be his supporters on this thread don't seem to care about that. I'm glad he may not have been serious about repealing the ACA. However, I can't see how his supporters have any idea about what they bought with their vote.

If anybody voted for him thinking he could actually repeal it on his first day in office, shame on them for thinking that. People who know how our democracy actually works understand that it isn't that simple.

This is the kind of attitude I want a President to have.

I want a President who can listen to people who believe differently from him and be able to logically digest their positions to make as informed a decision as possible.

Truthfully, this is probably the best news to come out of this entire election. I'm not particularly fond of the ACA (nobody likes being fined for being unable to afford insurance), but, as with all things, the devil is in the details.

Teamwork makes the dream work, as they say.

The only fix for Obamacare is single payer (like England and Canada). Do we really want to go down that rathole?

Or he can repeal and replace it with God knows what. The reality will hit Donald Trump on his first week in office. It will be fun watching.

why no most of the people who have it like itm I loved in A Australia and people there were astounded at our medical system, astounded as in a lot of obscenities that might Jenna an Aussie bush a bit. Most Canadian like their system also, some complain about electives and non-emergency care but the general public seems to love it, My in-laws like the system now in place in South Korea also.

Trump is not going to Single Payer, see my other post. He is only keeping two parts of Obamacare so far. You can't move to single payer without a Nationwide Strike by the unions who are opposed to it. Democrats hinted that we could but they would have split the Democratic Party if they attempted Single Payer.

Theres pros and cons Captain. Single payer DONE RIGHT works and works well. The problem is that Europe's tax and employment system (no outsourcing) are geared towards a steady stream of employee's. Thats how they can keep the membership (33%) low while keeping the care moving. America wouldn't last a day without being able to outsource. Hell, I just got outsourced last month. Why? Oh no real reason. Just cuz "they can." This is why America will never a working healthcare system for all.
