I wasn't aware our infamous Congress scrambled to get anything done. But, if they say so, I guess...
If this happens before the end of the year, there will be some very happy parents, who can relax and have a great Christmas. It's the right thing to do.
Two similar bills would eliminate the debts and require credit bureaus to remove all references to them.
California lawmakers in the House and Senate offered legislative proposals Thursday that would allow nearly 10,000 California National Guard soldiers to keep improper enlistment bonuses they were paid during the height of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan a decade ago.

I have followed this from the fringe. Former FM guy so was always curious how they were improperly paid. I will give half of these members the benefit of the doubt of not having a clue. It would be pretty hard to prove intent on the members part in many more. There is chain of command in place that failed...miserably. again have said this before, when you put people in charge of huge money programs and they don't have the background you set yourself up for failure.
