American football could fall like the gladiators of ancient Rome

I hope the NFL will adapt because football is the only sport I follow all season. I think there are several reasons for the drop off in ratings. Some it is changing demographics where the younger crowd does not want to sit still for 3+ hours watching a game where the commercials seem to get more airplay than the gameplay. I think Thursday Night Football should go away. This year, there have been some horrible TNF games (my Bears were in one). I think TNF causes the NFL to be overexposed. I would love to see them get back to Sunday games and one marquee MNF matchup.

Pro football on Thursday nights. Here the games are only shown on the NFL channel. Limited audience plus the short week schedules are not sitting so well with audiences or players. I prefer college football because anything can happen. Pro football has become too mercenary.
