Remember the poisoned water in Flint, Michigan? Well, more than a year later, and it still hasn't been fixed. The residents of Flint still cannot safety turn on their taps without fear of dying of lead poisoning.
Meanwhile, Republican governor Rick Snyder, the person who caused Flint's water system to be diverted to the polluted source in the first place, is refusing to take any significant action to help his own citizens. This may be due to the fact that Flint has a high African American population, which brings up the certainty of racism from Gov. Snyder and the white dominated Republican government of Michigan.
But what Snyder HAS done is allocate 150 million to a bunch of lawyers to try to prevent himself from being criminally charged for his involvement in the Flint water crisis. Instead of making any apologies or attempts to help the city, all he does is try to save himself.
The estimated cost of filtering Flint's water system is about $150 a day. This means that the 150 million Snyder has allocated to his legal defense team could help filter Flint's water for TWENTY SEVEN years. 27 years of clean water for a city of 100,000 people denied.
This is just another tragedy for the people of Flint, ignored and abused by a racist, selfish state government that poisoned them in the first place and then refuses to be of any help.

Seems like justice would be a lot better served if the 150 million went to fixing the water supply and Rick Snyder spent the rest of his days in prison.

PV2 Tong Li is a little careless with his decimal points, and facts. I suggest the NPR report on the origins of the crisis. Any suit against Governor Snyder, civil or criminal, wouldn't pass a legal sniff test. The fault for this crisis lies with The MDEQ (Republican led) and the Detroit Water Supply Authority (Democrat led) and the Flint Water Board (Democrat Led)

In 2011, the state of Michigan took over Flint's finances so those decisions were made by state officials under the governor, not city officials under the mayor.

This measure was being taken to save the City of Flint $250million over the next 25 years. The NEXT DAY the DWSA a Democrat controlled body that is predominantly African-American, gave notice that Flint would be disconnected from DWSA in one year, not enough time to complete the environmental impact studies and complete the new pipeline.
