Of course he does. Has to go out on a good note, with his bosses.

I appealed the effective date for a 10% hearing disability. VA responded that it will take 377 days to process the appeal. How can any organization operate that way? Just recently, my closest VA hospital, Bay Pines of St. Petersburg, had a veteran die of natural causes and was placed in a shower for 9 nine hours unattended because no one called for the morgue to pick him up. Of course, no one was fired. And, who holds the appeal process accountable?

LTJG Richard Bruce There is a program designed for benefits at discharge. You do all the paperwork while on active duty and it is marketed that youll have your rating shortly upon separation. Funny thing is you do everything and wait for a while. Once you inquire about the status you are told there is a backlog and it will take several months at best. The bar is set so tremendously low.
