This is old news but it just came across my inbox somehow. I find it very interesting and can try to understand both sides but I am not black and have never faced that kind of discrimination before. I do know this needs to stop this racial profiling. I have a retired NYPD police officer friend who is black just posted something to Facebook about we all profile, I did it every day of my career. Just posting this in the hopes of education and enlightenment.

I know profiling is a very real thing, but I always wonder how widespread true "racial profiling" really is.
If it were truly racial profiling, the guy in this first picture would be just as likely to be stopped as the guy in the second picture. I'm not sure that is true.
Profiling isn't just something cops do either. If I was covered in tattoos and shaved my head I can guarantee people would treat me differently than they do now. It's not just about skin color.

I found it very interesting SGT (Join to see), glad you found it that way too. What I also read while researching Professor Bland was that people were less likely to stop for blacks in crosswalks than other races. Personally I stop for them all but have noticed blacks are less likely to wave thanks than others. And when they do let me cross as they should, I always acknowledge their courtesy. Its amazing how I cab get sidetracked when looking for one thing!

I find nothing wrong with it, I have had similar happen to me, but I had ID and had to show it to the police. I agree that there are people who don't carry ID's when walking/running or bike riding, I do encase something happens. The police seemed nice and just checked her out and gave her some advice about walking towards traffic.
