It sounds to me like Veritas was attempting to do another standard sting on liberals by showing them on video agreeing to do violence for money - but they were recognized by the targets of their sting.

This is no different from them posing as executives from research organizations offering big money to abortionists for baby parts.

This in no way casts doubts on the work Veritas has done in the past showing the baby parts trade, or ACORN voter fraud, or Planned Parenthood protecting adult male partners of pregnant underage girls, or protecting the pimps of under aged girls smuggled into the country illegally for the sex trade.

The camera doesn't lie, and there is no possible context that will excuse the admissions of the sting targets caught on tape.

Enticing someone to commit wrongdoings with promises of payment is not investigative journalism, it's entrapment. She was directly trying to manipulate the situation in order to smear protestors, which is also known as "dirty as hell".

SSG Jessica Bautista, sting operations are ALL entrapment by definition.
Still, the mark doesn't have to fall for it, and if they are honest they won't.

Capt Seid Waddell - Entrapment is soliciting someone to do something they wouldn't normally do. In this case, the counter sting was meant to catch them in the act.

SSG Jessica Bautista, so you say. You cannot know that Veritas actually wanted them to carry out the violence any more than they wanted to buy aborted baby parts or to traffic in underage prostitutes smuggled into the country or to commit voter fraud.

They clearly DID want to get an on-screen admission though, as they have done in all of their other sting operations.

Their previous work was taken so seriously that the DNC fired the two people involved in the story in sowing violence at Trump events. Nice try on the attempt but it falls well short. Even the DNC knew they were dirty.

One was fired, one left on his own. Both for PR reasons during the height of campaign. I'd call them tainted, but this is dirty. Why isn't Project Veritas being charged with conspiracy to commit these crimes? Had those groups not taped everything, I'm sure they would have deceptively edited the conversation together to mislead the public once again.

At best, I'd call it criminal solicitation, but I'm no expert.

SCPO Joshua I - If I'm trying to hire you to do something illegal... then yes, I'm fairly sure that is conspiracy.
