I stopped reading after "Political appointee". Incomming President has the right to remove past political appointees and replace with there own without cause as well as change their own political appointees as they see fit. Entirely employment at will. Been going on for over a century. I see no reason to suspect anything different here despite what CNN may believe.

I read the entire article and agree with the guy being fired. Do you think CNN advocated for him keeping his job?

One can stop reading once they finish the first two words of the first paragraph... A political appointee.
I do think there is more to the story besides an Op-Ed that was written before the election but look at the accusation: a coded message to eliminate a race of people. So, it's not like Shermichael Singleton made a comment about Mr. Trump's hair. He made his opinion known which is devoid of any fact or action.

After a few years this article can be read with a better perspective. The political firings continued throughout the Trump administration and resignations of career officials and political appointees increased as well. Now several former officials are accusing the administration of misconduct and in some cases illegal activity. Is this considered being disloyal to the President or loyal to the Constitution?

CMSgt Al Nall I agree. The POTUS wants personal loyalty above all else, even when he's trying to overturn the results of an election. I've never seen a more clear and present danger to the US in my lifetime. Even the cold war, after the Cuban missile crisis, was being fought through proxies and a direct confrontation somewhat unlikely. We are literally tearing ourselves apart from the inside.
