It has been happening for some time. He did not foretell the future only commenting on the current state.

President Trump is not the best extemporaneous speaker and the media could have a field day jumping all over him when he misstates something as he did in this case. However, in their rush to discredit him totally, they exaggerate as much as he does. Sadly, I don't expect that either President Trump or the Media will learn a lesson and we're in for several more years of these slash and burn exchanges

Yep. A small protest in reaction to an arrest of an individual that folks felt were wrong quickly escalated and became a riot. Oh that has never happened in any country before but because it involved a community of refugees this makes Trump's provocative remarks correct? Get out of here. Oh by the way, note the part of the article that said Sweden hasn't experienced a terror attack of any kind since opening their doors to refugees since 2013. Hmmmm indeed.

1stSgt Glenn Brackin - Nope. Clearly stated as protest in response to the arrest of an individual. One idiot throws a rock at a cop, a warning shot is fired, and escalation occurs. Where have we seen this before?

SSgt Christopher Brose - My gawd, man! It's their country and their rules. We can contemplate why they don't track those statistics but it doesn't change the fact that they don't track and report those type of statistics. So yeah maybe I can't definitively say Muslims, immigrants, and refugees are not the problem but you sure as hell can't say they are the problem. Doesn't that suck.
Oh by the way, there are many data points our law enforcement and government voluntarily do not track when it comes to violence even though it may show additional cause and effect of certain violence in our own society.

Cynthia Croft - did they capture the group of masked men? This obviously was pre-meditated and I look forward to the motive of their attack. It was definitely not random.
